What Will Pablo Barrios Inherit?
Barrios is not much like Koke, people say. But at 22 Koke was not yet a central midfielder either.

WHY CHOLISMO LAB
A loss looks a little different when you can see why.
Following Atlético means accepting that plenty of matches will not end well. But when you understand why, even the same 0–1 can look different. Where did the team stop progressing in the first half? Which player was the opponent trying to remove from the game?
Cholismo Lab is an independent media project run by one Atlético supporter. We revisit matches, look closely at players and tactics, and make player profiles and quizzes too. The aim is to leave you noticing something different when you watch the next match.
We hope it gives people who already love Atlético more to enjoy. And if discovering a player or a match here helps someone new fall for the club, that would make us very happy too. It is one of the reasons to keep the site going.
MATCH REPORTS
0-3 at San Mamés. Two goals conceded inside three minutes of the restart, and from there Athletic sat in and left Atlético holding the ball. 62% possession, xG 1.02 to 1.41, big chances nil to three. Failing to break down a deep block is a problem carried over from last season, and the shape without a number nine showed its weak side. Also Grimaldo on the second goal, Lee Kang-in's right-footed shot against the post, and Barrios's ninety minutes. Anfield on Wednesday.
