Where to Sit at Spotify Camp Nou: A Fan’s Seating Guide

For a first match at Spotify Camp Nou, start with the central lower part of the second tier along either touchline.

On an official FC Barcelona ticket page checked in May 2026, those seats appeared as “2nd Side Central Lower” and “2nd Grandstand Central Lower”. The Side faces the benches; the Grandstand is the side of the players’ tunnel and the presidential areas.

The more important question is how close the block sits to the halfway line. From the second tier, the players are not as immediate as they are downstairs, but the far winger, the back line and the space around midfield remain in the same picture. That is why we would look there first.

This is an editorial recommendation, not an official ranking from the club. The stadium is still being rebuilt, and the names or availability of sections can change from one fixture to another.

Atlético supporters planning to wear club colours and celebrate openly should put the official away section ahead of the best central view. FC Barcelona’s entry rules allow visiting supporters in home areas to be moved, refused entry or removed when the away section cannot take them.

Spotify Camp Nou is still a building site in 2026/27

The ground in use today is not the finished version shown in the Espai Barça renders.

FC Barcelona received the Phase 1C occupancy licence in March 2026 and opened the North Goal. Available capacity rose to 62,652, bringing the Grandstand, Lateral, South Goal and North Goal into use.

Construction continues through 2026/27. Normal season tickets remain suspended while capacity is restricted, with the temporary Season Pass system retained for eligible members.

The completed stadium is planned to hold roughly 105,000 spectators under a roof covering the seating bowl. The new upper tier and the full roof belong to that future stadium. Old three-tier diagrams and finished-stadium illustrations should not be treated as a map of what can be bought now.

Open tiers, entrances and sales categories may move as the work advances. For an actual purchase, the live seat map for that fixture matters more than a guide written several months earlier.

For a first visit, look around the second-tier centre

The May 2026 ticket screen used “Side” and “Grandstand” for the two long sides of the pitch. In Spanish, the same areas are Lateral and Tribuna.

Side Central faces the dugouts. Grandstand Central sits on the main-stand side, close to the tunnel and presidential facilities. The club’s own descriptions placed a strong emphasis on the view from the central lower blocks of the second tier.

Our first search would therefore be for 2nd Side Central Lower or 2nd Grandstand Central Lower.

That height suits the football played on a large pitch. When Barcelona build from the back, you can follow the centre-backs spreading, the midfielder dropping towards the ball and the winger holding the opposite touchline. A low seat brings the duel closer; this angle makes the movement around it easier to read.

There is little reason to favour Side over Grandstand when one seat is on halfway and the other is drifting towards a corner. Take the more central block.

Upper and Lower labels may both appear within the second tier. A small price difference makes Lower attractive. A much cheaper central Upper seat can still be a sensible buy, because keeping the halfway-line angle usually matters more than moving a few rows down near the corner.

The first tier and the corners solve different problems

The first tier is for people who want the match to feel close.

Categories such as 1st Side Central and 1st Grandstand Central were listed in May 2026. From there, the pace of a tackle and the reaction of the benches carry more force than they do from the second tier. For a visitor who has come to see the players at short range, that may be the whole point of the ticket.

A lower sightline also compresses the far side of the pitch. Players overlap in the distance, and the shape of the match is harder to hold for the full ninety minutes. The first tier should be chosen for proximity, rather than because the dearer seat must automatically be the clearest one.

Corner seats enter the conversation when the central long-side price jumps. The official screen described 2nd Corner Lower and 2nd Corner Upper in terms of a panoramic view and value.

The pitch is seen on a diagonal. It is less even than the central view, but it gives more depth than sitting directly behind a goal and keeps the near penalty area close. That makes a second-tier corner a credible fallback, not merely the section left after the long sides sell out.

Resale listings marked only as “Corner” or “Longside” leave too much unresolved. A corner block near halfway and one beside the goal line do not offer the same view, so an unspecified ticket should be priced accordingly.

Gol Sud now has a dedicated supporters’ area

Gol 1957 opened in the first tier of the South Goal in March 2026. Its name recalls the year Camp Nou opened, and the area began with around 800 supporters.

That makes Gol Sud the part of the ground to inspect first when the home-end sound matters more than a symmetrical view.

An attack towards the near goal arrives with a different force from behind it. Runs into the box, a low cross and the first movement of the crowd all happen in front of the section. When play moves to the other end, the same angle stacks players on top of one another and hides smaller changes in positioning.

Gol Sud is not one single experience. A seat in the second tier will read the far end better than a very low seat, while the lower rows put the near penalty area and the noise closer.

Gol 1957 is a defined supporters’ area, not a promise attached to every general-sale ticket in the South Goal. Its boundary and the neighbouring sections should be checked on the seat map for the match being purchased.

Atlético supporters should use the official away allocation

FC Barcelona’s access rules are direct on this point. Admission is guaranteed for visiting supporters who obtain their allocated seat through the visiting club.

Away fans found in home areas may be relocated when space is available in the visitor section. When it is not, the rules allow removal from the stadium or refusal at the entrance.

Barcelona v Atlético in April 2026 was designated a high-risk fixture and operated with reinforced controls. A league or European meeting between the clubs can bring named tickets, identity checks and tighter enforcement of the separation between home and away support.

A central second-tier home seat may offer a clearer football view than the away section. It is still the wrong comparison for someone wearing an Atlético shirt, standing for a goal and wanting to share the match with the travelling support.

The official away allocation buys the right setting as much as the seat itself. During the redevelopment, entrances and walking routes can also change, so use the details printed on the ticket and Atlético’s match-specific travel information rather than an old Camp Nou gate number.

Use the seat map for the match you are buying

The May 2026 sales page showed first- and second-tier categories across Side, Grandstand, Corner and Goal. It is evidence of how tickets were sold at that point, not a guarantee that every 2026/27 fixture will open the same blocks under the same names.

Check the stand, tier, distance from halfway and whether the seat is marked Upper or Lower.

Reduced-view inventory also appeared on the official screen, including “1st Goal North Reduced Visibility”. A low price is not enough reason to accept a seat when the obstruction is unclear. Look for “Reduced Visibility” or “RV” before payment.

Sun and rain are harder to generalise during construction. The completed roof is not yet the roof over the current stadium, and temporary structures or newly opened levels can change exposure. No stand should be sold as permanently shaded or weatherproof on the basis of an old guide.

Accessible routes and wheelchair areas are also being updated as phases open. Travellers who need step-free access should check the instructions for the specific fixture and contact the club in advance where required.

At the redeveloping Camp Nou, the current official map is part of the ticket, not a final check after choosing it.
