If you are following your team to Balaídos, Celta Vigo's ground, the away section is in the upper tier of Río Alto, the south stand, and its only entrance is Gate 20. The section moves once the new Gol stand opens. The ticket can only come from your own club. For AFC Bournemouth's Europa League visit on Thursday 26 November, kick-off 18:45 CET, the club secured the maximum allocation of 1,158 tickets, and all of them had gone by 8 October. Bring your passport, a small bag and a rain jacket, and expect to queue for a search and to wait in the stand after the final whistle.
Information checked on 14 October 2026. Bournemouth had not yet published its matchday travel guide, so the timings below come from an earlier visiting club, and I will replace them when it does.
Away tickets come only from your own club, and they get you into the away end at Gate 20
Celta's ticket FAQ sets the rule. General tickets are for Celta supporters, fans of rival teams have to buy through their own club and only for the away section, and anyone wearing the rival team's colours or symbols outside that section is refused entry.
The club's internal rules, dated June 2024, describe a separate section in Río Alto with its own bar and toilets and Gate 20 as its only entrance. Bournemouth's ticket notice sells its section as general admission, with the club allocating seats once the sale has closed. The view from that corner is in the Balaídos seating guide.
Bournemouth's wheelchair spaces, up to three, are outside the away end and reached through Gate 16 or 18, where there is a lift.
Bournemouth supporters: bring the passport you registered with your ticket
Tickets cost €35 (about £30), plus a £3 fee per order. Bournemouth took passport details for everyone on a booking, and the name and number have to match the person who goes. The club says Spanish law requires every supporter to carry valid identification into the stadium.
The e-tickets are sent out in the week of the match and cannot be refunded or transferred. If you entered Bournemouth's ballot, it stays open until Monday 26 October to pass on cancellations, and the club has asked Celta for more seats. Do not travel hoping to buy one in Vigo. When Lille played here in January 2026, it told its fans there would be no ticket sales at the ground on the day.
At an 18:45 kick-off in April, the away gate was due to open two hours early
The closest precedent is SC Freiburg's guide for its Europa League quarter-final here on 16 April 2026. It told fans to meet in the old town and walk to the stadium together, that the away section would open at 16:45, two hours before kick-off, and that they would be checked twice, first by the police and then by stewards, with long waits at the away entrance. That was 45 minutes before the 17:30 opening Celta gave for the stadium gates in its own notice.
Its list of banned items included bags and rucksacks larger than A4, bottles and cans, power banks, long umbrellas, and flags and flagpoles. There would be nowhere at the stadium to leave anything and no alcohol on sale inside. Fans were asked to keep off the streets around the stadium and around Parque da Bouza, and not to use the car park right by the ground, where visiting supporters' cars had often been damaged. After the final whistle the away section would be held back, as is usual at Europa League matches, with the toilets and food counters open.
Celta's own rules ban bringing alcohol in or drinking it inside. AEMET's averages for Vigo airport give 13 days with at least 1 mm of rain in November, and with long umbrellas on that list I would wear a rain jacket.
Walk in with the group your club organises, and plan the night around the hold-back
A Europa Press report said the Policía Nacional escorted visiting fans from the city centre to the stadium "as usual" from 18:00 before Lyon's match in March 2026. The night before, several hooded people armed with sticks had turned up at a bar on Calle Areal where a group of French fans were, a brawl followed, and at least one person was taken to hospital. The same report noted that Celta fans usually gather in bars near the stadium before matches. Follow the meeting point your club announces, and do not go looking for a bar near the ground on your own, on match day or the night before.
For the way back, Vigo's bus company Vitrasa runs three shuttle lines after the match from stops beside the stadium, on Avenida de Fragoso and Manuel de Castro, and posts the times in the notices on its website beforehand. Celta has said they run according to demand, and neither Celta nor Vitrasa says whether they are still running when the away section is let out. Once you add the hold-back, I would not plan to leave Vigo that night.
Atlético fans in December: a members' application is the only way in
Celta v Atlético is on the weekend of 20 December, matchday 17 of LaLiga, with the kick-off time still to be set. Celta's FAQ says LaLiga confirms it about three to four weeks before. Away tickets go only to Atlético members who apply, and applications close 48 hours after the time is confirmed. Who can apply and how seats are shared out are in the guide to Atlético away tickets.
The banned list above comes from a European match, so for a league match go by Celta's rules and Atlético's own notice.
Deportivo fans at the derby: Río Alto or the new Gol stand
Celta's season-ticket guide for 2026/27 says away fans stay in Río Alto until the new Gol stand opens, and its seat plan marks an away section in that stand. Vigo's mayor wants the stand ready for the derby weekend, but Celta has given no date, so the Deportivo section will be in Río Alto or the new Gol stand depending on the works. Nothing has been announced on Deportivo's allocation, the sale or a high-risk declaration. When Celta's B team played Deportivo at Balaídos in January 2024, a high-risk match, Celta sent Deportivo fans to their own club for away tickets.
At the top-flight derby here in April 2016, LaLiga's report described thorough searches of fans and bags, stricter still at the away entrance, and scarves and a banner were stopped for their slogans.
