A centre-back who does not wait for the striker to settle: he steps in the moment the pass is played. He also carries a vertical pass from the back line into the pockets, which can change the entry point of an attack that too often turns slow. After years operating at a high level in both back threes and back fours, the question for 2026-27 is whether he can stay fit enough to anchor the defensive rebuild.
