If you are going to Mestalla with the away team, the only ticket that gets you in is the one your own club issues in your name, and it is checked at the gate. The records I found, from 2019 and 2024, place visiting fans in the north-east corner with gates on Calle Artes Gráficas. Real Madrid play there on Saturday 7 November at 21:00, and Atlético on Sunday 9 May 2027, kick-off time to be set. Valencia call 2026/27 the last season at Mestalla, with the move to the Nou Mestalla planned for summer 2027.

Information checked on 14 October 2026. I will add Real Madrid's ticket arrangements once they are published.

Your ticket has to come from your own club, in your name

Valencia's internal rules leave no other way into the away section. Everyone going in is checked against a list drawn up by the visiting club, and nobody but the person the seat is assigned to is let in. If away fans are found fraudulently buying seats in other parts of the ground, directly or through someone else, the club tells the visiting club and the security coordinator and asks for the purchase to be cancelled and refunded. Before some matches the club reposts a card for the away section with the same rule: a named, non-transferable ticket, shown at the gate with your ID. Everyone in the away section needs a ticket of their own, babies included.

I could not confirm how Real Madrid is selling its seats for 7 November or what they cost. Go by what Real Madrid sends you and by nothing else.

Atlético members apply through the club, and applications close 48 hours after the kick-off time is confirmed. The tickets are on paper and in the member's name, collected in person in Valencia and shown at the turnstile with a wristband and an identity document. For the 2023 visit they cost €30. Who can apply and how seats are shared out are in the guide to Atlético away tickets.

A neutral buys from Valencia's own sale and sits with the home fans.

Where away fans have been recorded, and the gates in an older LaLiga guide

LaLiga's report on Valencia against Betis in November 2024 recorded a group of visiting supporters in the Gol Xicotet Alto, blocks 533 and 733, the high corner where the north end meets the Avenida de Aragón side. LaLiga's guide to the stadium, last updated in 2019, sends away fans in through gates N15 and N16 on Calle Artes Gráficas. I could not confirm the section or the gates for this season, so use the gate printed on your ticket and named by your club.

Where to sit among the home fans, and which sides get the afternoon sun, is covered in the Mestalla seating guide.

Stay off Avenida de Suecia in your colours, and check the trains back

The nearest metro station is Aragó on lines 5 and 7, spelt Aragón on the club's website, about 240 metres from the ground in a straight line. Line 5 trains for Marítim run there without a change from the airport and from Xàtiva, opposite Estació del Nord. From Madrid on the high-speed train you arrive at Joaquín Sorolla, and line 7 trains for Marítim run from Jesús, the metro station next door, to Aragó. Trains for Machado on both lines turn off at Alameda and skip Aragó.

If your entrance is in the north-east corner, as in LaLiga's older guide, then as I read the map you walk north from Aragó up Avenida de Aragón, along the east side of the ground. Check your club's instructions before you pick the route, and follow the stewards when you arrive. The home crowd gathers on Avenida de Suecia, in front of the main stand, so stay off that side in your colours.

For Valencia against Real Sociedad on 20 September, also a 21:00 kick-off, Metrovalencia announced special trains from Aragó at 23:08 towards Marítim and 23:20 towards the airport on line 5, and at 23:13 on line 7. Look for a similar notice before your match. If you plan to go back to Madrid the same night, make sure there is a train after the final whistle before you book.

No set gate time, so go by your club and arrive early with a small bag

I found no standard opening time in Valencia's rules or FAQ. For the Trofeu Taronja friendly on 8 August 2026, a 21:00 kick-off, ElDesmarque reported that the gates would open at 19:30, and for the 2014 Copa del Rey final at Mestalla, Barcelona told its fans to expect them two hours before kick-off. Neither was a league match, so take the time from your own club's notice.

At Real Madrid's visit in February 2026, LaLiga's report says, private security searched bags and rucksacks at the gates, and the area holding most of the away fans was sectioned off from the home crowd. With a list check, an ID check and a search ahead of you, I would be at the away entrance when it opens. The gates the club keeps open after kick-off for latecomers, the puertas de guardia, are N8, N10 and N11 in its FAQ diagram, and N15 and N16 are not among them.

Backpacks up to 40 by 30 by 20 cm are allowed after a check. Suitcases and large sports bags are not, and the left-luggage point inside takes only pushchairs, walking frames and the like, so leave a weekend bag at the hotel or elsewhere in town. Drinks must be non-alcoholic, in plastic bottles under 500 ml, with the cap taken off, and Spanish law bans bringing alcohol in or selling it in the ground.

The club's rules also list eating pipas, sunflower seeds, as an offence, and megaphones and air horns are on its banned list. Flags and banners larger than 3 by 2 metres have to be requested from the club at least ten days before the match. There is no re-entry, and smoking and vaping are banned throughout. The full list is on Valencia's access rules page.

Wear your colours in the away section and nowhere else

Valencia's rules do not ban the away team's shirt. Among the grounds for refusing entry or removing someone, the same LaLiga guide lists behaving as an away fan in a home area when that puts safety or public order at risk. In the away section your club shirt is fine, though the general rules still apply, such as the ban on masks that cover the face.

At Real Madrid's visit in February 2026, El Debate reported, a spectator in a Real Madrid scarf among home fans had it taken, was spat at and left the stadium under police escort. If you are a neutral, or sitting with friends who support Valencia, leave the shirt and the scarf at the hotel and keep quiet when the away side scores.
