On a matchday you cannot drive up to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano and look for a space in its car parks. In Atlético's own words, the car parks around the stadium are "exclusively for season ticket holders with parking passes in these Car Parks and for fans that have bought a parking ticket for the match". A car with neither is not let into the parking zones, and Madrid City Council's FAQ on the stadium tells people to bring a car only if they already have a space booked.

That leaves two plans. Get a parking ticket for the match, or leave the car further out and do the last part on the Metro.

Information checked on 13 October 2026.

Turning up and hunting for a space does not work on a matchday

The club's rules for 2026/27 treat the car park as private on match and event days, and you need a pass or a parking ticket for that match to drive in.

Sur B (South B), the outdoor car park closest to the Metro, works as a park-and-ride on weekdays, and Oeste, the West car park, is free. Neither holds on a matchday. The city's page for the park-and-ride lists weekday opening from 6:00 to 22:00 "except the days of a match at the Metropolitano".

The club sells single-match parking, and the spaces go early

Single-match spaces are on the club's official ticket site, as Parking LaLiga and Parking Champions, from €40, in the outdoor Sur A, Sur B and Oeste car parks. For the Deportivo game on 24 October and Bayern on 3 November, every car park listed was already sold out. Under the club's rules, members with a season parking pass can release their space for a match until 10:00 on the day of the game, so that the club can offer it for sale. OKDIARIO's guide to the 2024 derby said the club's spaces usually go very quickly, so I would treat a parking ticket as a bonus and build the day around the Metro.

Buying a member's pass privately breaks the club's rules, which prohibit selling or using a pass outside the systems the club provides.

With a ticket: the M-40 exit, the time limits and who gets turned away

Use the exit for the car park you booked. From the M-40 North, exit 9A leads to the outdoor Oeste car park and exit 9B (Avenida de Arcentales) to Sur A and Sur B. From the M-40 South, take exit 10, also Avenida de Arcentales.

You can drive in from 12:00 on the day of the match, or from 10:00 when kick-off is at 14:00 or 16:15, and the car has to be out within two hours of the end. That leaves time to walk back without rushing, though not to go for dinner first. Leaving can still be slow. The fan site Más Atlético wrote in 2024 that, during the M-40 works, getting out of the stadium car park had taken more than an hour at some matches.

The club's rules also set a minimum of three people in the car, a condition the club can change. They keep out caravans, lorries, vans and anything that takes up more than one space, and anything with a total weight over two tonnes. If you are hiring a car, that may catch a large SUV or people carrier as well as a van, so check the weight on the hire papers.

On matchdays the club's rules keep the stadium's disabled parking spaces for members registered with a disability. If you need one, ask Atlético's customer service office on Avenida Luis Aragonés before you travel.

Without a ticket: leave the car further out and finish on Line 7

Without a parking ticket, the plan is to park well short of the stadium and take the Metro for the last stretch. Line 7 stops at Estadio Metropolitano, beside the ground. If you use a station car park on the way, check first that it is still open when you get back after a late kick-off, and which fare zone the station is in.

Some streets near the stadium are outside the city's paid on-street parking zone, but check the signs and any matchday restrictions before you leave the car. The same 2024 OKDIARIO guide named San Romualdo, Julián Camarillo, Emilio Muñoz and Miguel Yuste, around Simancas, as streets fans favour, about half an hour's walk from the stadium, where there is usually room. The city sends extra tow trucks on matchdays and says parking on traffic lanes, the bus lane on the ring cycle route in particular, is strictly prohibited.

Which station to use, how the queues work after the match and why a taxi should not be your only plan are in our Metropolitano transport guide.

On concert days, parking is sold show by show

For concerts, Ticketmaster has a venue called Parking Riyadh Air Metropolitano that lists parking places for individual shows, each as "Plaza de Parking" plus the show's name. Check road closures and access in the travel information for your concert before you set off.
