For a night match at the Sánchez-Pizjuán I would sit in the Fondo, the long stand on the east side, in one of its two lower tiers. For an afternoon kick-off I would cross to Preferencia, the main stand opposite, and pay for a section under its roof. On a winter afternoon Gol Sur, behind the south goal, is the cheaper way to keep the sun behind you. Preferencia is the only stand with a roof, and the Fondo faces west, towards the late-afternoon sun.
On most Spanish ticket pages a fondo is the stand behind a goal. At the Pizjuán the Fondo runs along a touchline, and the ends are Gol Norte and Gol Sur.
Sevilla's president, José María del Nido Carrasco, told the club's shareholders in December 2025 that he would like work on a new stadium on the same site to start in June 2027. In September he said the plans were still waiting for final approval.
Information checked on 14 October 2026. Prices and seat counts are from Sevilla's ticket site for the league matches on sale that day.
Read the section code: the letter is the stand, the number is the tier
Almost every section on Sevilla's ticket site has a letter and two digits. The letter is the stand: P for Preferencia on the west side, F for the Fondo on the east, S for Gol Sur and N for Gol Norte. Going by the names the site gives each block, the first digit is the tier, counted upwards. In Preferencia, P11 to P16 are Banco Pista, the rows nearest the pitch, the 20s are Tribuna, the 30s are Voladizo, a word that means overhang, and the 40s are Alta, the top tier. The other stands follow the same pattern, so F41 is the top tier of the Fondo. Each stand has its own gates: 28, 29, 0, 1 and 2 for Preferencia, 3 to 10 for Gol Sur, 13 to 18 for the Fondo, and 20, 21, 26 and 27 for the top of Gol Norte.
The names also show where the roof is. Only three kinds of section carry the word for covered, Voladizo Cubierto, Alta Cubierta and Central Cubierta, and all three are in Preferencia. That fits the club's own history of the ground, which has the roof going over the West Stand in the works of 1982. The lower Preferencia blocks, Banco Pista and Tribuna, are sold without the word, so I would not count on staying dry there if it rains.
At night take the Fondo; in the afternoon cross to Preferencia
The pitch runs almost exactly north to south. Preferencia, on the west side, faces east with the afternoon sun behind it. The Fondo faces west, towards it.
I worked out the sun's position in Seville for dates on this season's fixture list. The figures below are my calculation, and I could not find where the shadow of the roof falls. On 22 November, the derby date, the sun at 16:15, the time last season's derby kicked off, is low in the south-west, about 18 degrees above the horizon, and it sets at around 18:10. At 18:30 in April and May it is still about 30 degrees up and close to due west, straight in front of the Fondo. From November to February a 21:00 kick-off is after dark, and the sun stops mattering.
So for an evening match in winter the Fondo is the long side I would book. In each of the 14 matches with seats listed, every Fondo section cost less than any section in Preferencia, and you still watch from the touchline. I would take the two lower tiers, Tribuna Fondo Inferior (F11 to F14) and Tribuna Fondo Superior (F21 to F24), before the Voladizo and Alta blocks above them, because they are nearest the pitch.
For an afternoon kick-off I would pay the extra for Preferencia, in Voladizo Cubierto or Alta Cubierta. Their names say they are covered, and the sun is at your back. The front blocks of Preferencia also have the sun behind them, but their names make no promise of a roof.
Most kick-off times for the season have not been set yet. If you have to buy before yours is, the covered blocks of Preferencia suit any time of day.
Gol Sur is the cheap end; Gol Norte's lower tier is not on public sale
For every match, the cheapest seats were in Gol Sur or the top tier of Gol Norte.
Gol Sur faces north, so on a winter afternoon the low sun from the south-west falls on its fans' backs. It has no roof, and at 18:30 in spring the sun comes in from the side. On a budget I would choose it over the Fondo for a winter afternoon match, and over Gol Norte for any match.
Gol Norte is the home of Biris Norte, the supporters' group behind that goal. Its lower tier did not appear in the public sale for any of the 14 matches. What goes on sale there is the top tier, N40 to N46, and for some matches a couple of Voladizo blocks. The general sale has not offered seats among the Biris, and on a winter afternoon the top of Gol Norte faces the sun as well.
Buy from Sevilla's own site, where the league matches went on sale in June
Sevilla put all 19 home league matches on sale on 26 June, at entradas.sevillafc.es, so for most matches there is no sale date to wait for. The general sale gets what is left after the season-ticket holders, and 37,428 of them had renewed when the window closed in July, in a ground of more than 42,000 seats. For Osasuna on 26 October, twelve days away, 684 seats were left across 64 sections, many with fewer than ten.
For most league matches the club charges between €35 and €130, depending on the opponent and the stand, and €130 to €215 for Real Madrid on 21 February. One purchase is capped at six tickets, or four for the derby, Málaga and Real Madrid.
For Real Madrid's visit, four months away, only 163 seats were left across 30 sections. When the same fixture came round last May, the club announced that its allocation had sold out and that the only seats left were those released by season-ticket holders. The derby against Betis on 22 November is on the match list, with prices from €90, but no section had been opened and the kick-off time had not been set.
If the club has nothing in the section you want, an agency is the other way in. Sevilla issue every ticket in a name, and the club's purchase conditions say it does not guarantee the authenticity of tickets bought outside its official sales points. For the Osasuna match, P1 Travel listed block F41, the top of the Fondo, at €69, where the club listed €50: see Sevilla home tickets on P1 Travel. Booking through the agency links in this article may earn Cholismo Lab a small commission, at no extra cost to you. For the derby P1 has one category so far, the same block F41 at €249, which faces west, towards the late-afternoon sun. How P1's tickets work is at the end of this guide.
The public sale never offers the south-east corner
LaLiga's reports on Sevilla home matches last season place the away fans in S38 and S46, in the upper part of Gol Sur, inside a protective fence. Sevilla's seat map draws both blocks in the corner between Gol Sur and the Fondo, and neither was offered in the public sale for any of the 14 matches. LaLiga's venue sheet for the Pizjuán lists, among the grounds for refusing entry, behaving as an away fan in a home section when it puts safety and public order at risk.
For Atlético fans this season's league visit is over. Atlético won 3-1 here on 29 August (match report), and the return match is at the Metropolitano on the weekend of 18 April 2027.
Booking through an agency. If the club's site has nothing left for your match, P1 Travel sells Sevilla home games by category: browse Sevilla home tickets on P1 Travel. Its standard tickets are behind a goal or high on a long side, with up to three seats together guaranteed, mainly in the home sections. You choose the category, and P1 assigns the row and seat closer to the match. In each of the nine matches I compared, P1's cheapest ticket cost more than the club's cheapest, so check the club's site first.
